Do You Talk to Yourself?

Today’s Tool for a more Peaceful Life – Self Talk!

Do you ever talk to yourself?  I know I do.  How does it sound?  Is it loving, kind, and uplifting – or is it harsh, critical, and condescending. Be careful what you tell yourself.  You’ll see why in a bit

First thing to remember – we become what we think. We attract te things that we think about. If we are always talking negatively to ourselves, negative things will continue to happen to us.  Is that our intention?  Of course not – so let’s turn it around.  By focusing on positive thoughts, however, we can attract positive things.

Okay – so wait just a minute – does that mean we have to have a perfect life all the time?  No, that wouldn’t be realistic – life happens. Sometimes we get challenged and things don’t go our way.  There is hope, though.  Even our toughest challenges have value when we can take a moment, breathe, and see it from a positive point of view rather than a negative. Remember this:  You can develop positive thoughts that will help you to feel more peaceful, be happier, and be the best you can be, regardless of the situation.

Self talk is so important! Use it daily. Consider these transforming statements that you can start using today, and every day, to transform your life through the power of positive thinking.  Say them out loud.  Look in the mirror, look right into your eyes when you say them.  Enjoy the ones that resonate with you, and repeat the others until you believe them and they become part of your belief system.  It may not happen right away, but it is so worth the wait. Be persistent and consistent and see what happens!

Focus on these Positive Beliefs to Help You Appreciate More

  1. I understand my potential. You can achieve amazing results when you put your mind to it. Feel excited about reaching your true potential.
  2. I count my blessings. List each thing that you have to be grateful for. Remember to include the smaller items, like warm socks or tart cranberriesExpressing your appreciation reminds you of how rich you are.
  3. I learn from mistakes. You can make setbacks work for you by focusing on the lessons that they contain. Flubbing one job interview can teach you how to ace the next one.
  4. I find lessons in adversity. Tough times can be the most rewarding phase of your life. Know that you can emerge from any challenge with greater wisdom and courage. Look back at the obstacles you’ve already overcome, and reassure yourself that you can handle what’s ahead. You’ve survived them all so far!
